The idea for Lesson Planet was born in 1999 when founder, Jim Hurley, was teaching educational technology courses to K-12 teachers at UC Santa Barbara. Although teachers were excited about using the Internet, Jim noticed all the wasted time they spent scouring the Web for online learning resources.
